Ruixuan Wang (王睿萱)
School of Public Health, The University of Hong Kong
Ruixuan Wang is a third-year PhD student at the University of Hong Kong's School of Public Health. Her academic foundation is uniquely interdisciplinary, rooted in double bachelor's degrees in Biological Science and Software Engineering. This dual expertise drives her passion for applying computational rigor to complex viral datasets. Her research spans the genomic epidemiology of diverse pathogens, including RSV, SARS-CoV-2, influenza, MERS-CoV, and HPV. She is currently investigating intrahost HPV dynamics in immunocompromised hosts and developing simulation frameworks for recombination detection. As a dedicated user of BEAST for Bayesian phylodynamic inference, she frequently utilise these tools to uncover transmission patterns and evolutionary dynamics. She is eager to engage with the Croucher Summer Course to further bridge the gap between bioinformatics and global health surveillance.
