Irene Meki

Irene Meki is a molecular biologist with extensive experience in pathogen surveillance, viral disease outbreaks, and immunopathology. She has contributed to applied research projects on zoonotic and transboundary animal diseases, supporting the development of diagnostic tools for rapid outbreak detection and response. She has assisted in strengthening veterinary laboratory capacity across Africa and Asia through technical support, guideline development, and training. Currently, she is enriching her knowledge in virus evolution, applying genomic tools to study viral diversity, adaptation, and epidemiology.
