Kai Tseng (曾皓楷)
London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine
I am studying health data science at London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine LSHTM. Before MSc, I implemented anti-COVID policies in Taichung, Taiwan, where communication strategies were crucial in addressing vaccine hesitancy. As a Student Liaison Officer at the Vaccine Centre (VaC) at LSHTM, I co-hosted a podcast for World Immunisation Week titled “Immunity is about relationships”. In that episode, the use of the term "vaccine hesitancy" was challenged, as it overemphasizes individual attitudes while overlooking the resources and political-economic environment in which the health system invests and operates. I am also co-leading a film screening for the documentary “Shot in the Arm” in June at the Vaccine Centre. The event will explore vaccine hesitancy and feature a panel discussion with Professor Heidi Larson. I believe these engagements in vaccine-related work have led me to your course, and I am thrilled about this learning journey and making new friends.
