Kasim Firdaus is a DPhil student at University of Oxford, with a research project entitled 'Modelling Vaccine Hesitancy and Strategies to Address It'. Kasim incorporates social science theories regarding individual decision-making around vaccination, applying formal mathematical equations to decision models to simulate how individual choices scale up to collective vaccination outcomes using evolutionary game theory and social network models. Prior to his doctoral studies, he undertook several consultancy projects for WHO, UNICEF, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, and the Indonesian government. During his studies, he also completed consultancy work for the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) alongside my DPhil supervisor. Additionally, He is a lecturer (currently on study leave) at the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Hasanuddin in Indonesia, having trained as a medical doctor (MD).
