Zhinan Yin is Dean of the Institute of Biomedical Transformation at Jinan University and Dean & Academic Director of the Institute of Medical Transformation at Zhuhai People’s Hospital. He previously served as Dean of the College of Life Sciences at Nankai University.

He is a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and a Changjiang Scholar Distinguished Professor. His research focuses on gamma delta (γδ) T cell differentiation and their roles in tumour immunology, hepatitis, and gut microbiota regulation. He has pioneered γδ T cell-based therapies for tumours and infectious diseases. His work has been published in Nature, Nature Immunology, JEM, and Hepatology, with over 140 papers. He was consecutively named an Elsevier Highly Cited Researcher from 2014 to 2020.
