Philip Li

Philip Li was the first locally trained specialist in immunology & allergy in Hong Kong and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), where he leads Rheumatology & Clinical Immunology at HKU and HKU-Shenzhen Hospital. He established Hong Kong's inaugural specialist immunology & allergy training centre and spearheads the territory-wide Drug Allergy Delabelling Initiative (HK-DADI), advancing precision diagnostics to restore safe medication use. Under his leadership, HKU's services achieved international accreditation as Centres of Reference & Excellence for urticaria, angioedema, and allergy.

A prominent regional leader, he serves as President of the Hong Kong Institute of Allergy, Secretary of EAACI's International Societies Council, and Chair of APAAACI's Drug Allergy Committee. His research in drug allergy, immunodeficiency, and mast cell disorders has generated over 200 peer-reviewed publications and shaped Asia Pacific clinical guidelines. Recognised with the Patrick Manson Gold Medal, Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award, Red Cross Humanitarian Award, and Chief Executive's Commendation for Public Service, he exemplifies translational excellence—bridging immune mechanisms with real-world diagnostics and therapeutics to improve patient outcomes across immunological diseases.
