Dr Xin Tong is a scientist at the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS), specialising in the application of neutron scattering to materials research. Neutron scattering provides a powerful complement to X-ray techniques, particularly in the study of light elements. Tong’s expertise covers a range of neutron methods used to probe the dynamics and structure of matter. During the 2026 SR Summer School, he will provide an introduction to neutron scattering and methods, highlighting how these tools can be integrated with synchrotron radiation to achieve a comprehensive understanding of advanced catalytic and energy materials.
