Sihai Yang is a professor at both Peking University and Manchester University, specialising in the field of advanced functional materials, with a particular focus on Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). His research exploits SR to understand the host-guest interactions and structural dynamics of porous materials for energy and environmental applications. He is widely published in high-impact journals and is an expert in using SR-based diffraction and spectroscopy to solve complex chemical problems. At the 2026 SR Summer Course, he will deliver a lecture on advanced materials research, focusing on the frontiers of MOF discovery and characterisation.
