Chunzhen Yang is an associate professor at the School of Materials, Sun Yat-sen University. He holds a bachelor's degree in materials physics and chemistry from the University of Science and Technology of China and a PhD in physical chemistry from the University of Hong Kong. His research interests focus on the application of X-ray imaging and advanced characterisation to study the structural and chemical evolution of energy materials. With a strong background in both fundamental physics and experimental chemistry, Yang has contributed significantly to the understanding of material dynamics under operational conditions. At the 2026 SR Summer Course, he will deliver a lecture on X-ray Imaging, sharing his expertise in utilising synchrotron-based imaging techniques to visualise and solve complex challenges in materials science.
