Chiu Tang is an expert in synchrotron instrumentation and beamline design, currently a professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He previously served as a principal beamline scientist at Diamond Light Source in the UK, where he was instrumental in the development of world-class experimental facilities. Tang’s research expertise lies in high-resolution powder diffraction and the technical evolution of SR sources. He has co-organised numerous international workshops and summer courses, sharing deep technical knowledge of SR hardware. In the upcoming summer school, he will lecture on SR instrumentation and beamline design, drawing on his extensive experience to help researchers prepare for the next generation of light sources in the region.
