Liu Haiyan is a PhD candidate (Class of 2023) in Materials Science and Engineering at the College of Aerospace Science and Engineering, National University of Defense Technology. Her research focuses on ceramic fibre materials for high-temperature thermal insulation. She has published four SCI papers as first author and filed two national patents. She was awarded the 2025 Doctoral Student Special Program of the Young Talent Support Project from the Association for Science and Technology of China. In recognition of her academic performance, she has received the National Scholarship and the National Defense Science and Technology Innovation Scholarship
