Elizabeth Bradshaw
Senior Lecturer, School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences, Deakin University

Dr Elizabeth Bradshaw is an Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA) Accredited Sport Scientist (Level 2), Fellow and Life Member of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sport (ISBS), and Associate Editor for the ISBS journal “Sport Biomechanics”. She works in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at Deakin University, which is the World Number 1 ranked Sports Science school, according to the Shanghai World Rankings. Her research focuses upon biomechanics and motor control of human movement with a specific interest in youth athletes, sports performance optimisation, and sports injury. She leads the advanced biomechanics undergraduate unit (HSE323 Clinical and Sport Biomechanics), and has extensive experience supervising honours, masters by coursework, and higher degree research students. 

Throughout her career, Bradshaw has worked alongside many talented athletes and coaches in high performance sport in Australia and New Zealand, with a specialty in artistic gymnastics. She contributed three chapters in the upcoming third edition of Science of Gymnastics on (1) the motor control of the running approach in vaulting, (2) monitoring gymnasts for health, wellness and injury prevention, and (3) managing training load for injury prevention. Outside of work, Bradshaw is a mum with a teenage son and a wildlife rescuer.
