Dr Yun Liu
National Institute of Standards and Technology

Dr. Yun Liu received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Science Engineering at MIT, where he worked on protein-protein interactions using scattering techniques. After obtaining his Ph.D., he joined the Center for Neutron Research in National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) working on various research topics. He is currently a physicist and SANS instrument scientist at NIST, and is also an affiliated associate professor at the department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, and the department of Physics & Astronomy in University of Delaware. He won Kathrine B. Gebbie Young Scientist Award of NIST Sigma Xi in 2014 for his contributions to the field of soft matter, and the Science Prize from Neutron Scattering Society of America in 2016 for discovering dynamic cluster ordering in complex colloidal and protein systems. His research interests cover neutron/x-ray scattering technique and theories, biophysics, colloidal science, energy materials, and gas adsorption/desorption in porous materials.
