Mitsuhiro Shibayama

Mitsuhiro Shibayama is Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo. Shibayama obtained his B.Eng., M.Eng. and D.Eng. from Kyoto University in 1977, 1979 and 1983 respectively. Shibayama won the Award for Outstanding Achievement in Polymer Science and Technology (2019) from the Society of Polymer Science, Japan, Commendation, Science and Technology Award (2019) from Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan, Colloid and Polymer Science Lecture Award (2017) from the German Colloid Society, Precision Polymer Network Science with Tetra-PEG Gels, the Award of the Japanese Society for Neutron Science (2014), Paper Award, Physical Society of Japan (2012), and etc.

He has long been engaged in research on polymer physic; gels, block copolymers, polymer blends; neutron scattering experiments, theory and neutron scattering instruments; polymer dynamics of dynamic light scattering, etc. He is an internationally renowned leading scholar in the field of neutron characterisation technology and has a significant influence in the industry and internationally.
