Haoyu Lei is currently a PhD candidate in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), where he has been studying since 2022 under the guidance of Professor Farzan Farnia. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Information Engineering, which is jointly offered by the Department of Mathematics and the Department of Information Engineering at CUHK, within the Honor Class ELITE Stream. His research interests include Machine Learning Theory, trustworthy AI—focusing on robustness, fairness, and interpretability—as well as diffusion-based generative models. He also seeks relevant applications in computer vision, decision making, and planning.
