Associate research Professor, Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Fox Chase Cancer Center
Karthik Devarajan is an associate research professor with the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, Fox Chase Cancer Center and an affiliated faculty member with the Center for High-dimensional Statistics, Temple University’s Big Data Institute. His primary research interests include statistical and machine learning methods for large-scale data stemming from neuroscience, biomedical informatics, and high-throughput biological studies such as next-generation sequencing, methylation, metabolomics, proteomics as well as compound screening. He has developed unsupervised methods based on matrix and tensor factorisations for high-dimensional data as well as supervised methods for survival analysis and predictive modelling. Previously, he held research positions at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Research Institute in Princeton, New Jersey and in the Cancer Bioinformatics Group at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals in Boston.
