Zelin Li (李泽璘)
Nanchang University
I am a final-year medical student enrolled in the joint programme between Queen Mary University of London and Nanchang University, pursuing dual degrees in clinical medicine and biomedical sciences. My academic path combines neuroscience coursework, experimental research—including electrophysiology and optogenetics—and emerging computational methods. Passionate about the intersections of neuroscience, AI, and computational psychiatry, I am especially interested by modelling neural circuits underlying mental disorders and valence processing. Although self-study and minor coursework have acquainted me with linear algebra, calculus, and machine learning, structured training in computational neuroscience is essential for advancing my academic interests. Participating in this course will solidify my analytical and mathematical skills, helping me leverage advanced computational tools to better understand the field of computational neuroscience and how I can utilise it in my future research. I look forward to joining peers from diverse backgrounds, contributing actively to discussions, and maximising this valuable learning opportunity.
