Shiyi Ding (丁诗怡)
Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Sciences
I am a student at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, CAS (UCAS, China), majoring in computer technology. I graduated from Central South University (CSU, China) with a bachelor’s degree in statistics. My master's degree is under the supervision of Guoqiang Bi and Pengcheng Zhou in Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology (SIAT, CAS). My research interests are around statistical and computational neuroscience, neural time series analysis, probabilistic models and extracting spatiotemporal dynamics from high-dimensional neural data. I am working on using deep learning methods of matrix factorisation to capture the latent spatiotemporal patterns of noisy neural time series data. Moreover, my early research includes bioimage inverse problem solving and motion correction of calcium imaging, enhancing my skills in dealing with various topics of neuroscience. I also participated in a collaborative project where I was responsible for data analysis to uncover the difference in metabolism in mice's brains.
