Prof. Philippe Lemey
Professor, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven
Prof. Lemey is Professor with prominent research track record in molecular epidemiology, computational biology and viral evolution. He has studied the evolutionary processes that shape viral genetic diversity, spanning from large-scale epidemic processes, such as population growth and spatial dispersal, to small-scale transmission histories and within-host evolutionary processes. His work has led to important findings of the origin and epidemiology of HIV, the source-sink dynamics of seasonal influenza, rabies metapopulation dynamics, and viral outbreaks such as Ebola and Lassa virus. He has published 186 papers, with >9,000 citations and 47 H-index.
