Yuqian is a master’s student in Shengwei Hou’s research group at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). Her research focuses on applying deep learning techniques, particularly convolutional neural networks (CNNs), to identify viral sequences within metagenomes. She is developing bioinformatics tools for distinguishing viral and host sequences, with potential applications in viral metagenome assembly and bacterial-viral interaction studies through single-cell sequencing.
