Xiaomei holds a PhD from Beijing Normal University and is a master’s supervisor at Guangzhou University. Her research focuses on environmental and ecological studies, with over 20 publications in leading journals like Water Research. She has contributed to developing local standards in Guangdong, holds one authorised patent, and has managed over 20 research projects, including national grants. Xiaomei serves on the Young Editorial Board of HydroResearch, reviews for environmental journals, and is a coastal restoration expert for the Asian Development Bank. She is a member of the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences and the Global Chinese Marine Biologists Association.
