Willora is a PhD student at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, jointly supervised by Shengwei Hou at the Southern University of Science and Technology. Her research focuses on viral ecology in marine and extreme environments, such as deep-sea and glacial ecosystems. She investigates the composition, diversity, and functional roles of viruses in microbial communities, exploring their contributions to biogeochemical cycles and climate adaptation. Passionate about omics approaches, including metagenomics and transcriptomics, Qian leverages advanced tools to study viral dynamics and their ecological impacts in marine systems.
