Ruilin is a second-year joint PhD programme student in marine environmental science at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, supervised by Zhili He and Hongbin Liu. Her research utilises multi-omics techniques, microcosm experiments, and synthetic ecology to explore the ecological roles and contributions of comammox Nitrospiraand canonical nitrifiers in mangrove sediments.
