Lan is a researcher at the Marine Synthetic Ecology Research Center, Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Zhuhai). Her work specialises in environmental microbiology, microbial ecology, and the bioremediation of emerging organic pollutants in coastal wetland ecosystems.
