This workshop will allow scientists from HK to appreciate the first-hand phosphoproteomics techniques and advancement in bioinformatics developed for the study of phosphorelay-based cell functional phosphoproteomics, and to increase the international exposure of HK's research teams.

Cutting-edge phosphoproteomics technology and novel experimental concepts will be introduced into the University's teaching curriculum on cell signaling (Biol108) , plant biotechnology (Bisc315) and proteomic methodology (Bisc 507) as well as our every day research activities. This meeting also intends to bring together a few internationally well-known professors who have triumphed in the said research fields with the students of both local and mainland origins. This ASI will allow scientists from HK to appreciate the first-hand phosphoproteomics techniques and advancement in bioinformatics developed for the study of phosphorelay-based cell functional phosphoproteomics, and to increase the international exposure of HK's research teams. This meeting will host 30-50 professors and students (both PG and UG students). The symposium program includes two days of courses teaching covering basic proteomics and phosphoproteomics concepts followed by another two days of technical hands-on training on LC-MS/MS and analysis of results with bioinformatics.
