Sir Gregory Winter to speak at the Molecular Frontiers Symposium in Hong Kong

8 November 2024

Sir Gregory Winter, FRS, winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2018 and Chairman of Croucher Foundation, will be among the distinguished speakers at the Molecular Frontiers Symposium to be held in Hong Kong later this month.

Sir Gregory will be joined by fellow Nobel laureates Stefan Hell (2014, Chemistry), Tim Hunt (2001, Physiology or Medicine), K. Barry Sharpless (2001 and 2022, Chemistry), as well as Professor Nancy Ip, President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a Croucher scholar.

The symposium will be hosted by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from November 15–17, 2024. This marks the first time the annual flagship event, organised by the Molecular Frontiers Foundation, will be held in China.

Under the theme "Frontiers of New Knowledge in Science," the symposium’s three-day programme features more than 20 keynote lectures on molecular science. The event aims to advance cutting-edge molecular science research and foster interaction between leading scientists and the public. The Molecular Frontiers Foundation, which organises the Molecular Frontiers Symposium, was founded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in 2007.

This event presents a unique opportunity for scientists, students, and the general public to engage with world-class researchers at the forefront of molecular science.

The symposium will take place at the Main Hall of the university’s Shaw Auditorium, running daily from 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Registration is open to the public via this website
