Zhixiao Niu (牛智骁)
National University of Singapore
I am currently a PhD student at the National University of Singapore, working under the supervision of Prof. He Xiaogang in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. My research focuses on globally synchronized hydroclimatic extremes, rainfall nowcasting, machine learning, and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) methods. I am particularly interested in AI-based generative models and their applications in climate science. My work aims to enhance our understanding of extreme weather events and improve predictive models by integrating machine learning techniques with physical principles. This approach combines data-driven insights with the rigor of environmental science to create more accurate, reliable, and interpretable forecasting models.
