Yuhang Shao is a PhD candidate who graduated from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology with a degree in atmospheric sciences in 2017. He is a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Earth System Model (CAS-ESM) Development Group. Yuhang's main research interests lie in the application of machine learning in Earth system prediction, including bias correction of model prediction data, downscaling, and data-driven sub-seasonal to seasonal prediction. He developed a new generation of error correction schemes for seasonal prediction systems based on CAS-ESM, which significantly improves seasonal precipitation forecasting and will be used in China's seasonal flood consultations.
