My name is Wang Rui. I'm Ph.D Candidate at the Division of Environment and Sustainability, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. My supervisor is Jimmy Fung. I've been working on the precipitation nowcasting since 2021. I use deep learning technique to improve the precipitation nowcasting. The study region I focused on is Hong Kong. I use radar data to train the AI model to do the precipitation nowcasting. My research is support by the AOE project. I've published few papers on AI-based precipitation nowcasting using radar data on Geophysical Research Letters, IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing. I'm looking forward to joining this workshop to learn more frontier knowledge on the weather forecast.
