Xiaoming Shi
Assistant Professor, Division of Environment and Sustainability, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Xiaoming Shi obtained his BSc from Lanzhou University and his MSc and PhD in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Washington. Before joining HKUST, he was a postdoctoral scholar at UC Berkeley. He received the Heywood Young Scientists Award in 2022 and serves as an Academic Editor for the journal Atmosphere. His work focuses on developing new computing approaches for the simulation of convection and clouds. He also investigates the fundamental dynamics of extreme weather to advance our understanding of the atmosphere and the impact of climate change.
