Tom Hung is a MPhil student at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in the physics department. He is now focusing on quantum sensing in diamond. His research centres on nitrogen-vacancy centres which are atomic scale defects in diamond behaving like trapped quantum states. He studies their spin and optical properties with the goal of developing sensitive sensors for different parameters.
