Zhaoxiang Chen research focuses on topological transport phenomena in quantum materials. He investigates how non-coplanar magnetic textures and scalar spin chirality generate spontaneous Hall responses, particularly in layered chalcogenide systems where charge density waves and magnetism coexist. His approach spans single-crystal growth, micro-nano device fabrication using focused ion beam techniques, and precision electrical transport measurements under magnetic fields. He is driven by a central question: when antiferromagnets possess vanishing net magnetisation yet produce large Hall signals, is the underlying mechanism rooted in real-space chirality or momentum-space Berry curvature?
