Haoyu Ren is a physics PhD student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), working under the supervision of Professor Sen Yang. His research lies at the intersection of quantum information science and condensed matter physics, specifically focusing on Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) centres in diamond. He specialises in utilising these NV centres as high-sensitivity quantum sensors to probe the fundamental properties of emergent materials. To achieve nanoscale spatial resolution, we integrates NV probes into Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) systems, leveraging near-field proximity to map magnetic and electronic phenomena with unprecedented precision.
