Haixu Wang (王海旭)
Nanjing University
Haixu Wang is an assistant professor in the Department of Chemistry at Nanjing University. He received his BSc with first-class honours from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, where he performed undergraduate research with Professor Wing Yiu Yu. He then joined the laboratory of Professor Chi Ming Che at University of Hong Kong and conducted PhD research on homogeneous catalysis and organometallic chemistry. He subsequently joined the laboratory of Professor Yogesh Surendranath at Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a Croucher postdoctoral fellow, where he developed a passion for electrochemistry and discovered a new electrochemical half-reaction, the hydrogen reduction reaction. He now aims to combine his diverse backgrounds to gain molecular-level understanding and develop new methodologies for electrocatalysis and heterogeneous catalysis.
