Xiaodan Fan
Professor, Department of Statistics , Chinese University of Hong Kong

I am a Professor in Statistics at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. I received a B.E. in Automation and a M.S. in Pattern Recognition & Intelligent Systems from Tsinghua University, China, and a Ph.D. in Statistics from Harvard University. I am generally interested in probabilistic modelling, machine learning, statistical computing, and their biomedical. I currently serve as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics (since July 2012) and as an Editorial Board Member for Frontiers in Genetics (since April 2015). I also served as a Guest Editor for the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics from November 2014 to April 2018.

In addition, I have acted as a referee for a number of leading academic journals, including the Journal of the American Statistical Association, Annals of Applied Statistics, Journal of Computational and Graphical Statistics, Bioinformatics, PLoS Computational Biology, Psychometrika, Technometrics, and others.

I have participated in the organisation of various academic conferences, serving as an Organising Committee Member for the 12th ICSA International Conference, the 4th Institute of Mathematical Statistics Asia Pacific Rim Meeting, and the CUHK Symposium on Statistics, among others. I have also contributed as a Programme Committee Member for conferences such as ICBBB and BIBE.
