Zhijie Sang (桑志杰)

Zhijie Sang is a researcher at PAAI, specialising in the development of large-scale models for edge applications. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Information and Communication Engineering (2016) and Masters in Science in Intelligent Science and Technology (2019) from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications. Previously, he worked at Microsoft Bing, where he led the development of document-level machine reading comprehension models deployed in Microsoft Ads, News, and Azure. He also built fact extraction systems for Bing Knowledge Cards and developed long-document summarisation and QA modules for Microsoft Copilot, contributing to generative search features for Bing China. From 2023 to 2024, he initiated and led the Microsoft China AI School program, promoting industry-academia collaboration and AI talent development. Zhijie has published over ten academic papers and holds one granted invention patent, showcasing his expertise and contributions to advancing AI technologies.
