Nicole Yang is a research assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology at the Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK). An interdisciplinary researcher, Nicole integrates cognitive science, language education, and educational technology to explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning in technology-enhanced environments. Her work combines contemporary cognitive science and learning theories to investigate the interplay between human cognition, artificial intelligence, and instructional design. Her research focuses on advancing technology-driven education, including developing AI-powered creative language learning systems that support metacognitive strategies, examining cognitive mechanisms that underpin human–computer collaboration, and designing innovative learning experiences that integrate insights from cognition and technology. Nicole's interdisciplinary approach aims to optimise learning outcomes and drive progress in the field of education through the application of emerging technologies.
