Yidan, a master’s student at the Language Academy, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, is set to graduate in 2025. Her research focuses on the intersection of artificial intelligence and statistics in language technologies. Recent projects include developing multilingual sentiment and aspect-extraction pipelines, as well as using topic modelling and Bayesian methods to analyse large-scale online reviews, uncovering communication patterns and public perception.
With expertise in transformer-based models, classical statistical analysis, and reproducible Python workflows, Yidan is dedicated to advancing interpretable and policy-relevant AI. She aims to deepen her skills in probabilistic modelling, causal inference, and rigorous evaluation methods. By participating in academic forums like the Croucher Advanced Study Institute on AI and Statistics, Yidan seeks to connect with researchers and contribute to the development of innovative, impactful AI solutions in language technology.
