Xiaoyu Yan (闫晓宇)

Xiaoyu Yan received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Shenyang Pharmaceutical University in China, followed by a master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. He completed his PhD in 2012 at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University at Buffalo (SUNY). After earning his PhD, Dr Yan worked as a clinical pharmacometrician and pharmacologist at Janssen Research & Development (Johnson & Johnson) and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in the United States. During his time in the pharmaceutical industry, he applied model-informed drug development approaches to help teams better understand diseases and targets, as well as identify optimal dosing strategies for patients. His work contributed to the global approval of several new therapies in areas such as oncology, immunology, cardiovascular, and neuroscience. Dr Yan joined the School of Pharmacy at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in September 2018. His research interests focus on pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics.
