Shimin Zhang is an incoming PhD student at the Department of DSAI at Hong Kong Polytechnic University, under the supervision of Dr Jibin Wu. His research interests include neuromorphic computing, dynamical systems, and LLM reasoning and interpretation. Shimin aims to explore the internal mechanisms of current large language models (LLMs) and the human brain in their processes of task solving and cognition, with the goal of enhancing the general understanding of these two intelligent systems. He aspires to develop brain-inspired large foundation models that move toward artificial general intelligence (AGI). As a first author, he has already published research papers at top-tier AI and machine learning conferences, including AAAI and ICML.
