Ka Yan Lai (黎嘉茵)

Ka Yan Lai is a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Urban Planning & Design at the University of Hong Kong. Her research lies in the interdisciplinary area of Healthy Cities, linking social, built, and natural environment exposures to individual-level behavior, health, and biomarkers. She employs large-scale health cohorts and state-of-the-art spatial and statistical modeling techniques. Ka Yan is particularly interested in working with large health cohort datasets. Her current research focuses on climate and health for longevity-ready cities, urban sociology of aging, big data urban epidemiology, advanced statistical modeling, and machine learning algorithms. She wishes to register for the Croucher course "AI and Statistics" to further strengthen her research skills and techniques.
