Jingxian Zhao (赵敬贤)
Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Jingxian Zhao obtained her PhD degree from Tianjin University in January 2025 and is currently a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Building Environment and Energy Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, working under the guidance of Professor Liming Jiang. Her research focuses on the increasing use of engineered timber in landmark architecture, addressing the critical barrier of fire safety, particularly in high-density regions like Hong Kong. Jingxian is particularly interested in the self-generative design of large-span hybrid timber structures to enhance inherent fire robustness, leveraging artificial intelligence. Additionally, she explores the combination of 3D printing concrete with timber to identify more opportunities for the application of low-carbon materials in practical structural engineering.
