Hongquan Gui

Gui Hongquan is a PhD student in Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, building on a strong academic foundation from Chongqing University and Beijing University of Chemical Technology. His research focuses on intelligent manufacturing, digital twin systems, and machine learning for error prediction and compensation in precision machining. He has authored multiple first-author papers in top-tier SCI journals such as Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing and Advanced Engineering Informatics (both JCR Q1). Gui also holds a Chinese patent on thermal error compensation based on mist-edge-fog-cloud computing. He has contributed to national-level projects, including the "Precise and Clean Forming of Aviation Surface Gear" initiative, and has practical experience in computer vision algorithms (YOLOv5, U-Net, VGG16) from an internship at MCC CCID. His excellence has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the National Scholarship for Postgraduate Students (2022) and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Research Postgraduate Scholarship.
