Cheng Ren

Ren Cheng is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He earned his BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China, in 2018, and his PhD in Control Science and Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2024. His research focuses on industrial digital twins, cyber-physical manufacturing systems, and control-communication co-design. During his PhD, Ren conducted in-depth research on the C919 aircraft final assembly line, investigating digital twin applications in aircraft assembly and testing. He has published 14 SCI/EI-indexed journal papers, including in IEEE TASE and IEEE IoTJ, and received the Best Paper Award at the 2nd “Future Industrial Internet” Symposium by the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
