Zhao Liu (刘钊)
Zhejiang University
Zhao Liu is an associate professor at the School of Physics, Zhejiang University. He earned his bachelor's degree in Science from Nanjing University and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Beijing Computational Science Research Center, Princeton University, and the Free University of Berlin, before joining the faculty at Zhejiang University in 2018. Liu’s research focuses on the theoretical exploration of fractional quantum Hall states and fractional Chern insulators. He employs computational techniques such as exact diagonalisation and the density matrix renormalization group to analyze microscopic models with strong experimental relevance. His recent work centers on fractional Chern insulators and other exotic correlated phases in moiré materials.
