Yuqi Jiang (姜禹岐)
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Yuqi Jiang is a second-year doctoral student in Physics at HKUST. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, and a Master of Science from the National University of Singapore. Jiang’s research focuses on quantum topological states in twisted tungsten diselenide (WSe₂), leveraging a self-developed microwave impedance microscopy (MIM) technique. Twisted bilayer transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have garnered significant interest for their distinctive topological characteristics. Notably, the discovery of the double quantum spin Hall (QSH) effect indicates that materials with elevated spin Chern numbers can host multiple pairs of helical edge states, presenting exciting prospects for spintronics and topological quantum computing. Jiang’s work employs MIM as a high-resolution local probe for imaging material conductivity.
