Yunwei Sheng (盛芸玮)
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Yunwei Sheng is a postdoctoral researcher at HKUST, working under the supervision of Professor Jiannong Wang. She completed her PhD at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona, Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), under the guidance of Professors Josep Fontcuberta and Ignasi Fina, with a focus on ferroelectric photovoltaic oxides. Sheng’s academic background encompasses ferroelectrics, photovoltaics, complex oxides, semiconductors, and two-dimensional quantum materials. Her current research centres on 2D topological insulator/superconductor/magnetic heterostructures. Building upon this foundation, she aims to develop functional devices based on thin films of ferroelectric and multiferroic materials, as well as 2D ferroelectric/magnetic heterostructures. These devices hold promise for applications in communications, low-power electric and magnetic field sensing, and energy efficiency, storage, and conversion.
