Xueyang Song

Dr Song is an assistant professor in the Department of Physics at HKUST. She earned her PhD in Physics from Harvard University in 2021, following a BSc in Physics from Peking University in 2017.
Her academic journey includes postdoctoral research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2021 to 2024, supported by a Moore Postdoctoral Fellowship. In 2021, she was selected for the University of Chicago's Rising Stars in Quantum Physics program. During her doctoral studies at Harvard, she was awarded both the Peirce and Purcell Fellowships in 2018.
Dr Song’s research interests lie in strongly correlated systems, where she explores emergent quantum phenomena and novel phases of matter.
