Xin Shen (沈鑫)
Huazhong University of Science and Technology
Xin Shen is a research assistant working under the supervision of Professor Jie Wang, who is scheduled to present a talk on fractional Chern insulators at this event. Shen’s current interests include fractional Chern insulators and the geometric aspects of quantum matter. He focuses on exploring exactly solvable models that uncover new mechanisms or offer deeper insights into strongly correlated phases of matter. His research also aims to derive rigorous results through formal analytical methods and to develop novel theoretical and numerical tools with structured approximation frameworks. In a recent collaboration with Professor Wang and colleagues, Shen generalised the Kapit–Mueller model—which realises lowest Landau level states on a lattice with Gaussian-decaying hopping—to a lattice representation of arbitrary Landau levels. This model serves as a platform for studying exotic many-body phases, including non-Abelian quantum Hall states, in lattice systems. The work has been made available on arXiv:2501.09742.
