Xiao Li (李瀟)
City University of Hong Kong
Dr Xiao Li is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK). He received his bachelor's degree from Peking University in 2008 and his PhD in Physics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014. From 2015 to 2018, he conducted postdoctoral research at the Condensed Matter Theory Center, University of Maryland, College Park. Dr Li joined CityUHK as an Assistant Professor in 2019 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2024. His research focuses on novel phases of matter arising from the intricate interplay of topology, disorder, and electron-electron interactions. Currently, his work centers on two main directions: (1) exploring emergent electronic phases in moiré heterostructures, where the precise stacking of two-dimensional materials gives rise to unique quantum environments; and (2) developing comprehensive theoretical frameworks to understand exciton behavior in two-dimensional materials.
